Grand Mosque of Abu Dhabi

The mosque is big enough to hold forty thousand worshippers at once. The center section holds the main prayer hall that can contain nine thousand worshippers. Next to the main hall are two side rooms with exclusive use for women. Each of these halls can accommodate 1,500 people at a time.

The four corners of the premises have four minarets that rise up over 377 feet high. Fifty seven domes cover the main building and outside yards. These domes are decorated with white marble slabs and marble interior decorations. The courtyard area is paved with floral designs and measures 180,000 square feet.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Mosque has broken a number of world records such as the largest carpet measure 60,570 square feet. This carpet was made by over a thousand weavers, thirty workers, and twenty technicians. This structure also has the largest chandelier in the world, standing at fifteen meters in height and ten meters in diameter.
