Bavarian Forest National Park (Bayerischen Wald or Bayerischer Wald) is one of the largest areas of protected forest in central Europe. Located in the southeast region of Germany, and bordering on the Czech Republic, this is an area where nature rules, not man. It is a mere remnant of the vast Hercynian Forest that occupied southern Germania during Roman times.
Every summer, thousands of visitors flock to view the beauty, hike the many trails and mountains, and witness the wonders of nature.
While summer is the most popular time for visitors, many return there during the winter to view nature in it's harshest form.
